The Year of the Rooster - 2005 Chinese New Year Celebration at the Rose Garden Restaurant
70 of us celebrated Chinese New Year at the Rose Garden. What a feast we had, eating for many hours, a true Slow Food experience. The menu included:
Peking duck
Fish maw chicken soup
Ginger and onion chicken
Cashew shrimp
Steamed whole fish with ginger
Braised enoki mushroom with silken tofu
Capital pork ribs
Braised shiitake mushroom with baby bok choy
Sizzling beef with black pepper
Almond cookies
Red envelope usually filled with money, a gift children look forward to
